One-day tour choices

1. VALOMBREUSE PARK

Departure to Basse-Terre area. After crossing the Rivière Salée, you will arrive at the "Parc Floral de Valombreuse", a wonderful site, where you will discover more than 300 species and 200 sub-species with exotic names such as porcelain roses, anthuriums, alpinias,... an Eden garden where countless birds find a peaceful shelter. Departure to Sainte-Marie de Capesterre. Visit of the distillery "Mon repos", where a short historical talk on rum will be given; sampling. Return to the hotel.

2. CANOPÉE

Departure to the Route des Mamelles, which winds through the lush National Park (tropical rainforest). Arrival at the Zoological Garden, a reserve where a multitude of trees, bushes and creepers hide a number of small animals, like the mongoose, the iguana, the land turtle, or the "raton laveur", more commonly known as the "raccoon". Located at an altitude of over 1,500 ft. We invite you then to discover the "Canopée", the heights of the tropical forest, with suspension bridges hung to the top of the trees, intermingled with plants and lianas. At 20 meters high, you will discover the tropical forest from tree to tree. Departure to Sainte-Marie de Capesterre. Visit of the distillery "Mon repos", where a short historical talk on rum will be given; sampling. Return to the hotel.

This excursion is not recommended for people suffering from vertigo. The number of places is limited. They will be assigned on a first come - first arrived basis.
